The Volley - The PrivateMother dearest. Cannon fire on the ridge. Colonel shouts, his aides follow like pets. Valliant horse, a man’s fortune in the form of a sturdy mare. Round shots out of range, the lads jeer at the heathens who seem to be incapable of firing their artillery. Polished boots treat the sun baked ground. Scarlet jackets advance, Shakoes shade scared eyes and drums beat with the hearts of a thousand men. March. Advancing forward, with every step closer to the imminent stench of death. FearBleak. Grey street fills the atmosphere with emptiness. Stone buildings tower over the cobbled road, casting their black shadow over the little light that the moon has given to this scene. The blonde haired woman, whimpering in fear stumbles down the street. Half running, shoes getting stuck in the gaps. Mascara runs downs her face, the sobs shriek out as she turns her head to see the pursuer. Dark shadow yards away. Low voice. She stops and un-straps the shoes. Shadow comes closer. She picks the shoes up, Neck cranes to see the silhouette. Scream. Two souls fill the area; everything else is dead. Cat and Mouse. Her red dress flowsFear
